Carrom

Flick, pocket, cover the queen

About this game

Carrom is the flick-and-pocket board game played across South Asia, in homes, clubs and tournaments. Slide your striker along the baseline, pull back to aim and let go: coins slide, rebound off the cushions and drop into the corner pockets. Learn in eight hands-on lessons, play the computer at four levels or a friend on one phone, and try a new trick shot every day. A polished plywood board, glossy coins and a dotted aim guide that shows where each shot will go. Large text, reduced motion and left-handed layout included. An in-app Game Rules page covers every edge case. No ads, works offline.

How to play

  1. New here? Tap Learn to play: eight short lessons where you make every shot yourself.
  2. DRAG the striker sideways along your baseline to place it. It turns red if it touches a coin.
  3. DRAG BACK from the striker to aim. The dotted line shows the shot; a longer pull is a harder flick. RELEASE to flick.
  4. Pocket a coin of your colour and you shoot again. Pocket nothing, or the other colour, and the turn passes.
  5. Pocket the red queen, then pocket one of your own coins on the same or the next stroke to cover it, or she goes back.
  6. Foul: if the striker falls into a pocket, one of your pocketed coins goes back to the centre and the turn passes.
  7. Clear your coins first to win the board: 1 point for each coin left on the other side, plus 3 for the covered queen.
  8. Keyboard: Left and Right slide, A and D aim, Up and Down set power, Space flicks. Hint shows a good shot.
