Four-Field Kono
Step forward. Jump to capture. A Korean stone game in five minutes.
About this game
Kono is a family of Korean folk board games played with a few stones on a board of crossing lines. Each stone steps one point forward, or jumps over an enemy stone beside it to take it, and a jump can carry on in a chain. Play the classic Four-Field board against the computer, the tiny Two-Field board or the grand Six-Field board. Five computer levels, two players on one phone, seven hands-on lessons, hints, danger marks, take back and a Watch & Learn mode. A painted paper board, large text and reduced motion options, no ads, works offline.
How to play
- New here? Tap Learn to play: seven short hands-on lessons where you make every move yourself.
- Tap a stone and its reachable points glow. A stone steps one point straight forward; it never steps sideways or back.
- To capture, jump over an enemy stone that stands right beside yours onto the empty point behind it. A jump may go in any direction.
- After a jump your stone may jump again in the same move. A red ring and a number show how many stones a move takes.
- A stone with a stone directly behind it cannot be jumped from the front. Look before you step next to an enemy.
- Capture every enemy stone, or leave the other side with no move, to win. There are no draws.
- Hint explains a good move. Danger marks warn about stones that can be jumped next. Take back undoes your last move.
- Auto Play shows the computer playing both sides, with Pause and a Think time you can change.
