Halma: Hop and Leap
Hop your pegs across the board and fill the far camp first.
About this game
Halma (from the Greek word for a jump) is a family race game from the 1880s. Move a team of pegs from your corner to the opposite corner, stepping one square or hopping over any piece, and chain hops into long leaps. Play Classic on a 16 by 16 board, Quick on 10 by 10, or race three computer players in the four-player game. Five computer levels, two to four players on one phone, hands-on lessons, hints, take back and a Watch & Learn mode. Lit wooden boards, large text and reduced motion options, no ads, works offline.
How to play
- New here? Tap Learn to play: five short hands-on lessons where you make every move yourself.
- Tap one of your pegs and every square it can reach lights up: small dots are steps, gold rings are hops.
- Tap a lit square or drag the peg there. A peg steps to a neighbouring square or hops over any piece next to it.
- After a hop, keep hopping in the same turn if you can. Pieces with gaps between them make a ladder for long leaps.
- Nothing is ever captured: hop over your own pieces and the other side's alike.
- Fill every square of the far corner camp with your pegs to win. A peg inside its goal camp cannot leave it.
- Hint shows a good move, Take back undoes your last move, and Auto Play shows the computer playing every side.
- If nobody finishes within 100 moves each, the player furthest along wins.
