Pearl Diving
A season on a Gulf pearling boat, one breath at a time.
About this game
Sail with a Muharraq dive crew in the summer of 1924. Sing, dive on one breath, haul your partner up, open the shells at dusk and decide what to sell, repay and keep for a necklace.
How to play
- Plan each dawn: pick a pearl bank or a rest day
- Hold to breathe in, let go in the green band, then dive
- Tap shell beds and time the closing ring, signal before air runs low
- Haul your partner up on the beat, open the shells, grade the pearls
- Sell or hold at the harbour, repay the advance, help your family
