Peralikatuma

Leap, chain and crown on an octagon of lines.

About this game

Peralikatuma is a traditional jumping game from Sri Lanka, played on an octagon-shaped board of lines. Hop over your opponent's gems to capture them, chain leaps in one move, and crown a Star. Two rule sets, five computer levels, two players on one phone, hands-on lessons, hints that explain why, danger marks, take back and a Watch & Learn mode. Large text and reduced motion options, no ads, works offline.

How to play

  1. New here? Tap Learn to play: eight short hands-on lessons where you make every move yourself.
  2. Tap a piece and the points it can reach glow. A man steps one point forward, diagonally forward from an X point, or sideways.
  3. Leap an enemy piece next to you onto the free point straight behind it. Keep leaping: a chain is one move.
  4. A capture is compulsory. Pieces that can leap pulse; a refused move says why.
  5. Reach the two far rows and your man is crowned a Star that moves in every direction.
  6. Classic Stars fly along whole lines; Gentle Stars move one point. Capture every piece or block your opponent to win.
  7. Hint explains a good move. Danger marks warn about pieces that can be captured next. Take back undoes your last move.
  8. Auto Play shows the computer playing both sides, with Pause. 25 quiet moves each settle the game on strength.
