About this game

The classic game of flipping, beautifully made. Place a disc, trap a line of enemy discs between two of yours and watch them turn over in a ripple. Classic 8 by 8, quick Mini 6 by 6 and Reverse (fewest discs wins). Five computer levels, two players on one device, hands-on lessons, hints that explain why, take back and a Watch & Learn mode. A felt and brass board, glossy two-faced discs, large text and reduced motion options. No ads, works offline.

How to play

1. New here? Tap Learn to play: five short hands-on lessons where you make every move yourself.
2. Marked squares show where you may place a disc. Tap one.
3. Your disc must trap a straight line of enemy discs between itself and one of your own discs: along a row, a column or a diagonal.
4. Every trapped disc turns to your colour, in every direction at once.
5. If you have no legal move you pass, and the app does it for you.
6. Corners can never be flipped. Be careful with the squares beside an empty corner.
7. The game ends when neither side can move: most discs wins. In Reverse, the fewest wins.
8. Hint explains a good move, Take back undoes your last move, and Auto Play shows the computer playing both sides.
