Rice Terraces
Guide the spring, share the water, bring in the gold
About this game
Tend a mountainside of rice terraces through a year of seasons: route the spring water with gates and channels, soak, plant, weed, mend the walls and harvest, in the Cordillera of the Philippines and in Bali. Real 3D, eight years, a growing village.
How to play
- Tap a round gate to open or close it: water runs downhill through open gates.
- Keep each field's water inside its green band; the band changes with the season.
- Tap a field to plant, weed, clear snails, harvest or mend its wall.
- Share the water with neighbours and the valley: fair sharing earns stars.
- Think and Watch & Learn show what a farmer would do, and why.
