Turkish Dama
Turkey's draughts: orthogonal jumps, take the most.
About this game
Dama is the traditional draughts game of Turkey. Pieces move and jump along rows and columns, a capture is compulsory and you must take the most pieces, and a man that reaches the far row becomes a king that flies the length of the board. Play the traditional Standard rules or the Easy capture option. Five computer levels, two players on one phone, hands-on lessons, hints that explain why, danger marks, take back and a Watch & Learn mode. A glazed-tile board, large text and reduced motion options, no ads, works offline.
How to play
- New here? Tap Learn to play: seven short hands-on lessons where you make every move yourself.
- Tap a piece and its squares glow. A man steps one square forward or sideways, never backwards or diagonally.
- Jump over an enemy piece next to you, forward or sideways, onto the empty square behind it. Capturing is compulsory.
- Keep jumping while you can, even round a corner, one landing square at a time. In Standard rules take the route with the most pieces.
- A red ring with a number shows how many pieces a route captures.
- Reach the far row and your man is crowned: a king moves and captures along a row or column over any distance.
- Hint explains a good move. Danger marks warn about pieces that can be captured next. Take back undoes your last move.
- Win by capturing everything or leaving your opponent with no move. Auto Play shows the computer playing both sides, with Pause.
