Specialized synapse between α-motor neuron terminal and skeletal muscle fiber. Acetylcholine released from presynaptic vesicles binds nAChR on motor endplate, triggering end-plate potential and muscle contraction. Disrupted in myasthenia gravis and by botulinum toxin.
