publishes its own aggregate submarine-cable-network statistics (~500 cable systems, ~1.8M km);
note ICPC defers to TeleGeography, a private research firm, for cable-by-cable detail, so the
citation covers the aggregate figure only. Equipment/CDN/IoT/data-center/tower/handset/
emergency-comms/private-5G items (12–20) remain fully editorial.
