1 Who we are. Global Monetary Systems is provided by EqualInformation, LLC. It's a sourced, offline-first reference on how the world's monetary system works — the macro companion to our PlainMoney app. Privacy questions: privacy@equalinformation.com.
2 Scope. This policy applies to
the Global Monetary Systems app (iOS bundle identifier and Android package name
com.equalinformation.globalmonetarysystems.app) and to this website.
3 What we collect. Nothing. Global Monetary Systems does not require an account and does not collect your name, email, location, contacts, or any other personal information. It does not use analytics, crash reporting, or advertising SDKs of any kind.
4 Stored on your device only. Depending on how you use the app, it may store — locally, never transmitted:
Uninstalling the app removes all of it.
5 What talks to the internet. The app is 100% offline-capable — every page, citation, and the on-device AI work without a network connection once installed. The only network activity, other than store billing, is: reader-initiated "Refresh now" or opt-in Auto-sync fetching official public data from the IMF, World Bank, BIS, ECB and national central banks' keyless public APIs; an optional FRED feed using your own API key; citation pages you tap, which open the source institution's own page (with an explicit "Open in browser" fallback, never automatic); and downloading an on-device AI model you choose, a one-time file download.
6 On-device AI ("Ask a model"). Answers questions using a model that runs entirely on your device — nothing you ask, and nothing it answers, is ever sent to us or any third party. Opt-in, off by default.
7 Camera, photos, and voice. Point the camera at text or speak a question instead of typing it. Both are recognized entirely on-device — no photo or audio is ever uploaded or stored by the app.
8 No analytics or tracking. No analytics SDKs, crash reporters, advertising SDKs, or tracking tools of any kind.
9 Sourcing and educational content. Every claim traces to a named, tappable source. The app explains how the monetary system works and what has historically followed a given kind of event — it never tells you what to buy, sell, or invest in, and it is not a substitute for licensed financial, legal, or investment advice.
10 Permissions. No access to your location or contacts. Camera and microphone/speech-recognition access are requested only if you choose to use camera or voice search — both processed entirely on-device.
11 Subscription. The Essentials layer of every page is free, permanently. Global Monetary Systems Pro is an optional monthly subscription ($9.99/month) that unlocks the Applied and Research layers. Payment is handled entirely by Apple or Google — we never see or store your payment details.
12 Sharing and sale of data. EqualInformation, LLC does not sell personal or sensitive user data, and does not share it with data brokers or for advertising.
13 Data retention and deletion. Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data — saved pages, settings, any downloaded AI model, and any API key you entered.
14 This website. This site is static — it has no backend, no accounts, no cookies used for tracking, and no analytics. The glossary and signals pages fetch static JSON files from this same site; nothing you type into the glossary search box is sent anywhere.
15 Children's privacy. Global Monetary Systems is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone.
16 Changes. If this policy changes, the updated version is posted here and in the app, with the Effective Date above revised.
