Anti-apoptotic B-cell lymphoma 2 protein; master regulator of intrinsic (mitochondrial) apoptosis pathway. Overexpressed in follicular lymphoma via t(14;18) translocation. Venetoclax (BCL-2 inhibitor) produces high remission rates in CLL and AML; first BH3-mimetic drug class.
