RecA-family recombinase at the core of homologous recombination; BRCA2 loads RAD51 onto resected ssDNA ends, displacing RPA to form the presynaptic filament for strand invasion. Overexpression confers drug resistance; RAD51 inhibitors (RI-1, B02) sensitize HR-proficient tumors.
