Get help with World Heritage Games — an atlas of folk instruments you can play.

World Heritage Games is a free iPhone and iPad app of playable portraits of folk instruments. Play the Finnish kantele free, try the Madagascan valiha, learn to hear and name the strings, and unlock the Zithers & Harps of the World collection once if you want everything. No accounts, no tracking, and it works offline. Questions? Write to support@equalinformation.com.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I play an instrument?

Open an instrument from the Home tab or the collection page, then tap Play. Touch or drag across the strings; each string sounds a note. Tap Watch & learn to let the instrument play itself while you follow along, with a real Pause.

What is free and what is paid?

The kantele is free in full. Other instruments can be tried free for 90 seconds, then the collection is unlocked with one non-consumable in-app purchase. It is not a subscription.

How do I restore my purchase?

Open the Library tab and tap Restore Purchases, or tap it in the paywall. You need to be signed in to the same Apple ID that bought it. If you use Family Sharing, the unlock is shared with your family group.

A purchase did not unlock. What should I do?

Check your internet connection, make sure you are signed in to the App Store, then tap Restore Purchases. If it still does not work, email us with your device model and iOS version. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Does it work without internet?

Yes. Everything works offline. Only the Privacy and Support links in the Library tab need a connection.

There is no sound.

Check that the Sound switch in the Library tab is on, that your device is not in silent mode with the volume down, and that headphones or a Bluetooth speaker are connected as you expect.

Can I make the text bigger?

Yes. The app follows your system Dynamic Type size, and the Library tab has a Text size setting. VoiceOver, Reduce Motion and Increase Contrast are supported.

Is my data private?

Yes. The app has no accounts, no servers, no analytics and no tracking, and your favourites and settings stay on your device. See our Privacy Policy.

Will more instruments be added?

Yes, in free updates that bring new collections of instruments and hand crafts from around the world.
