PlainLaw does not collect or store personal identification data, legal case details, or confidential client information.

4 How We Use Information

PlainLaw uses information to:

5 Local-First Design

PlainLaw is designed with a local-first architecture. The vast majority of content is bundled within the app and works completely offline. PlainLaw does not require an account, login, or registration. There is no cloud sync of personal data, and no user profiles are created on remote servers.

6 External Data Sources

PlainLaw Pro users may optionally connect to external legal data sources to fetch publicly available legal information (e.g., congressional records, federal regulations, court opinions from government APIs). When external sources are configured:

7 No Analytics or Tracking

PlainLaw does not use any analytics SDKs, crash reporters, or tracking tools. No data is sent to third-party analytics services. No advertising SDKs are included.

8 App Store and Google Play Billing

PlainLaw may use Apple App Store In-App Purchase (on iOS) or Google Play Billing (on Android) for Premium (one-time purchase) and Pro (annual subscription) functionality. Apple or Google may process payment and transaction information under their own respective policies. 13 Data Retention and Deletion

Purchase-related state may be restorable through App Store or Google Play for eligible purchases. Uninstalling PlainLaw removes all locally stored data from your device, including bookmarks, cached content, evidence organizer data, and preferences.

14 Security

PlainLaw relies on iOS and Android platform protections and app sandboxing as part of its local-first design. User-provided credentials for external data sources are stored in the platform's secure keychain (iOS) or keystore (Android). However, no method of storage or electronic transmission is completely secure, and the company cannot guarantee absolute security.
