Help put practical, cited shelter-building knowledge in everyone's pocket.
Build a shelter from what is around you, step by step, with a citation on every recommendation — offline, no account, no ads. Then make it better, one rung at a time.
PlainShelter is a native, offline-first app for iPhone and Android, built and maintained by EqualInformation, LLC. It starts with survival — the quickest safe shelter from the materials you have — then helps you secure it, make it comfortable, and eventually build something that lasts. Learn more on the PlainShelter site.
Anyone, anywhere, should have enough information to make a shelter from what is available around them — survival first, then comfort, then something to thrive in.
Every recommendation is cited to a public-domain or open source and opens in the app. PlainShelter is part of the EqualInformation "Plain" family of apps.
Disclaimer: PlainShelter gives general survival information from public-domain and open sources. It is not professional, medical or emergency-service advice. In an emergency, call your local emergency number first.
