Help us put hyperlocal, offline weather-safety guidance in everyone's pocket — especially the billions without a paid weather service.
Information shared is power shared — PlainWeather gives everyone clear, offline, life-protecting weather guidance, and it works entirely without a live connection.
PlainWeather is a hyperlocal, offline-capable weather-safety app for iOS and Android, built and maintained by EqualInformation, LLC. It provides severe-weather action guides for tornadoes, hurricanes, flash floods, wildfires, blizzards, heatwaves, lightning, and more — each one usable with zero connectivity — plus safety calculators (heat index, wind chill, a lightning flash-to-bang countdown), activity go/no-go checklists for farmers, fishermen, and outdoor workers, and specialized modes for kids, elderly users, and people with chronic conditions.
PlainWeather is not trying to out-forecast the big weather services — its edge is the offline safety-action layer: what to actually do, pre-downloaded and ready before the signal drops. The core safety-critical guidance is free for everyone, permanently; an optional PlainWeather Pro unlock (one-time purchase or monthly subscription, your choice) adds convenience features like a historical worst-case reference and pollen/allergy notes. PlainWeather is live now on Google Play, with the App Store version currently in review. Your support helps us keep the safety-critical layer free, expand hazard coverage, and translate it into more languages.
Every human lives under weather every day, everywhere on Earth, with no exception — but most weather apps assume a live connection and a paid subscription, exactly the two things people often don't have in the moments a storm actually turns dangerous.
PlainWeather's answer is an offline-first safety-action layer: hazard guides, calculators, and checklists you download once and keep working on with zero signal, plus a last-synced forecast that stays usable — with a visible "last updated" timestamp — long after you go offline.
No safety-critical feature is ever paywalled. That line is absolute: whether withholding a feature could put someone at greater risk decides what's free, not what's popular or what's easy to sell.
Information shared is power shared. Life-protecting weather knowledge should reach everyone, in their own language, for free — that is why PlainWeather is part of the EqualInformation portfolio.
Disclaimer: PlainWeather provides general severe-weather safety guidance for educational purposes and is not a substitute for official alerts from your local meteorological or emergency-management authority. Always follow official evacuation orders and call your local emergency services in a life-threatening situation.

A donation is entirely separate from the optional PlainWeather Pro unlock and does not itself unlock any feature. Every safety-critical feature in PlainWeather is free for everyone, permanently, with no subscription and no ads.
