1 Who We Are

PlainLife is provided by EqualInformation, LLC. PlainLife guides a person through the entire arc of human health as one continuous, intergenerational loop — "womb to next womb" — in plain language, fully offline.

2 Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to the PlainLife app (iOS bundle identifier: com.equalinformation.plainlife.app; Android package name: com.equalinformation.plainlife.app). PlainLife is available on Google Play and is coming soon to the Apple App Store.

3 Information PlainLife May Store

PlainLife guides you through six chapters of the human health loop — Origins, Birth, Childhood, Adolescence, Fertility, and Generations. Depending on how you use the app, PlainLife may store information on your device, including:

• Your profile and preferences from first-run onboarding (all optional)
• Tracking entries you choose to record (e.g. pregnancy, cycle, child milestones, symptoms)
• Birth-tool data, such as kick-counter and contraction-timer logs
• Bookmarks and saved topics
• Reminders you set
• Notes you write and any "Ask PlainLife" history you keep

PlainLife does not collect or transmit any of this data. All information remains on your device, in encrypted local storage.

4 How We Use Information

PlainLife uses locally stored information to:

• Provide plain-language guidance across the six loop chapters
• Power "Ask PlainLife" — offline retrieval over a bundled, cited knowledge base (no LLM, no servers)
• Surface urgency / triage tags so you know when to seek timely care
• Track what you choose to track, and remind you when you ask it to
• Generate an optional doctor-summary you can share, and let you export or delete your data

5 Local-First & Encrypted Design

PlainLife is 100% on-device. It does not collect, transmit, or store any user data on servers. There is no account, no servers, no cloud sync, and no user tracking. Your data is held in encrypted local storage — you hold the keys. The app works fully offline, including in airplane mode.

6 No Analytics or Tracking

PlainLife does not use any analytics SDKs, crash reporters, advertising SDKs, or tracking tools. No data is sent to third-party analytics services.

7 Guidance, Not Diagnosis

PlainLife is evidence-based, with cited sources in its bundled knowledge base. It provides plain-language education and triage guidance — it does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or condition, and it is not a substitute for professional medical advice. In an emergency, contact your local emergency services. Always seek the advice of your physician, midwife, or other qualified health provider with any questions regarding pregnancy, a child's health, or any medical condition.

8 Permissions

PlainLife may request the following device permissions:

• Microphone and Speech Recognition (optional): Used only for voice input to "Ask PlainLife." You can always type or tap instead.
• Notifications: Local reminders you choose to set.

PlainLife does not require location, camera, or contacts, and does not need internet for its core functionality.

9 Sharing and Sale of Data

EqualInformation, LLC does not sell personal or sensitive user data. We do not share users' data with data brokers or for advertising purposes. The company does not intentionally transmit personal or sensitive PlainLife user data to its own servers or unrelated third parties. Any sharing — such as a doctor-summary — happens only when you choose to share it, using your device's own sharing tools.

10 Data Retention and Deletion

Your data stays on your device until you remove it. PlainLife includes an export option and a delete-all option so you remain in control. Uninstalling PlainLife removes all locally stored data from your device, including your profile, tracking entries, birth-tool logs, bookmarks, reminders, and notes.

11 Security

PlainLife uses encrypted local storage together with iOS and Android platform protections and app sandboxing as part of its local-first design. However, no method of storage or electronic transmission is completely secure, and the company cannot guarantee absolute security.

12 Your Choices

Everything you track is optional. Voice input is optional. You can export your data, delete all of it from within the app, or generate a doctor-summary to share on your own terms. Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data from your device.

13 Sensitive Data

PlainLife may handle especially sensitive information — reproductive, pregnancy, and child-health data. This is precisely why PlainLife is built local-first and encrypted, with no account and no servers: that data never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to share it.

14 Children's Privacy

PlainLife is designed for adults navigating the human health loop — for example, prospective and expecting parents and caregivers. While the app's content covers childhood and adolescence, the app does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe information has been provided inappropriately, please contact the company.

15 Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated version on this page and revise the Effective Date above.
