App Support — Global Monetary Systems

Get help with Global Monetary Systems — a sourced, offline reference on how the world's money actually works.

Global Monetary Systems is an offline-first reference for iOS and Android on how the global monetary system works — 359 sourced pages covering the current mechanics (exchange-rate regimes, monetary policy tools, cross-border payments), the history of every monetary system that has existed, and the design space for what could come next, each traced to official sources (IMF, World Bank, BIS, central banks) or peer-reviewed research. Every page comes in three depth layers — Essentials (free), Applied, and Research — and an on-device AI can answer questions grounded in the app's own pages. It's 100% on-device-capable, works fully offline, and explains without ever telling you what to do with your money.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Global Monetary Systems work without internet?

Yes — completely. All 359 pages, every citation reference, and the on-device AI all work fully offline once installed. The only network activity is an optional "Refresh now" or opt-in Auto-sync (off by default) that fetches official live data from the IMF, World Bank, BIS, ECB, and national central banks, plus citation pages you choose to open.

Is every claim in the app actually sourced?

Yes. The app's hard rule is "no source, no claim" — every citation is a tappable chip that opens the original institution's document in-app, at full width, and returns you to exactly where you were reading. Authority order: IMF, World Bank, BIS, treasuries, central banks and the OECD first; peer-reviewed journals for historical topics; textbooks only as background reading references, clearly labeled as such.

What is "Ask a model," and does it send my questions anywhere?

Ask a model is an on-device AI assistant. It first answers from the app's own 359 sourced pages and names the pages it used; if the app doesn't cover your question, it draws on its broader knowledge and says so. The model itself runs entirely on your phone once downloaded — your question and its answer never leave your device. It's opt-in and off by default.

What's the difference between Essentials, Applied, and Research?

Every page has up to three depth layers: Essentials (a clear explanation anyone can follow, always free), Applied (worked mechanisms, real historical examples, and how-it-actually-works detail), and Research (the underlying models, data, and methodology, for graduate-level and professional use). Essentials is free, permanently. Applied and Research are unlocked by the optional Pro subscription.

Is Global Monetary Systems a government app?

No. Global Monetary Systems is an independent educational reference published by EqualInformation, LLC. It is not a government entity, provides no government services, and is not affiliated with or endorsed by any government, central bank or international organization, including the U.S. Treasury, the Federal Reserve, the IMF, the World Bank and the BIS. Every fact links to its original official source, and the address of that source is shown on screen.

Does Global Monetary Systems give financial advice?

No. It explains how the monetary system works and what has historically followed a given kind of event — it never tells you what to buy, sell, or invest in. It's not a substitute for a licensed financial advisor, accountant, or attorney.

Does the app cost anything?

The Essentials layer of every page, live data on the Now tab, and search are free, with no ads. Global Monetary Systems Pro is an optional $9.99/month subscription that unlocks the Applied and Research layers on every page — there is no free trial.

Can I point my camera at text or speak a question?

Yes. The search box accepts typed text, a photo of text (on-device text recognition), or your voice (on-device speech recognition) — all three are processed entirely on your device.

Where does the live data come from?

Directly from each institution's own public API, with no backend server in between: the IMF, World Bank, Bank for International Settlements, European Central Bank, and national central banks. An optional FRED (Federal Reserve Economic Data) feed is also available if you supply your own free API key.
