PlainMap is an offline-first crisis-navigation app for iOS and Android, built and maintained by EqualInformation, LLC. It's a real, working map of the help around you — hospitals and urgent care, pharmacies, emergency and domestic-violence shelters, cooling and warming centers, water points and food banks, fuel and EV charging, and police and fire stations — built from real OpenStreetMap community data, with a downloadable offline vector map, live weather and hazard alerts, and an Emergency Mode built around the moments that matter most.
Every feature is designed with privacy at its core — PlainMap has no account, runs no company servers, and performs no tracking, and the map, the facility database, and every safety feature work fully offline. PlainMap is in final pre-launch preparation for both the App Store and Google Play, and it is free for everyone. Your support helps us keep it free, add more regions, and keep the data honest and current.
In a real crisis — a natural disaster, a medical emergency, or just being somewhere unfamiliar — knowing exactly where the nearest hospital, shelter, or water point is can matter enormously, and it is exactly when connectivity is least reliable.
