Frequently Asked Questions

How do I play?

Goats move first and place one goat per turn on any empty point until all twenty are on the board; only then may goats move, one step along a line. A tiger steps one point or jumps over an adjacent goat onto the empty point directly behind it, capturing it. Tigers win by capturing every goat; goats win when no tiger can move. Tap Learn to play for nine hands-on lessons, or Rules for the full reference.

What does the free preview include, and how do I unlock the game?

You can try the game with a free preview of about 90 seconds of play; menus, lessons, Rules and Auto Play are never timed. When the preview ends, tap Unlock full game for a single one-time purchase. There are no subscriptions and no ads.

How do I restore my purchase?

If you reinstall the app or move to a new device, open the game, wait for (or open) the unlock screen and tap Restore purchase. It will unlock again at no extra cost, using the same Apple ID or Google account you bought it with.

Does the game work without internet?

Yes. It plays fully offline. A connection is only needed when the App Store or Google Play processes a purchase or a restore.

Is my data private?

Yes. The app has no accounts, no servers, no analytics and no tracking, and your progress stays on your device. See our Privacy Policy for details.

What is Auto Play (Watch & Learn)?

The computer plays both sides and explains each move. You can pause at any time, change the thinking time, and compare with your own guess. It is a good way to learn how the tigers and goats fight.

Why did my move not work?

If a move is not allowed, the piece tries, comes back, and a message tells you why. Remember: goats never jump, tigers cannot jump over another tiger, and a goat with a piece directly behind it, or on the edge, cannot be jumped.

How do I get new boards and pieces?

Win games. Walnut unlocks with your first win and Ash with three wins; the Snow set of pieces is earned by beating the Hard or Master level. They are earned by playing and are never sold.

Can I make the text bigger?

Yes. The Rules page has text-size buttons up to 300%, and there is a large-message option in play. A Reduced motion setting on the title screen shortens moves and removes shaking and bobbing.

My progress or purchase is missing. What should I do?

Tap Restore purchase on the unlock screen. Game progress is stored on your device, so it will not carry over to a new device or after an uninstall, but your purchase always will.
