LifeOS — Your Operating System for Life

Simple, clear, honest. Your personal data never leaves your device.

Last updated: May 2026  •  Effective Date: May 19, 2026

The short version: LifeOS is a 100% local-first app. All your health, financial, and personal data lives exclusively on your device. We do not operate any servers that receive user data. No tracking, no analytics, no ads, and no account is ever required.

1 Who We Are

LifeOS is developed and published by Bhim Upadhyaya / Equal Information, an independent software developer building privacy-first personal tools for health, finance, family, and life management.

2 Scope of This Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to the LifeOS mobile application for iOS and Android, distributed under the package identifiers:

It applies to all versions of LifeOS available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, and to all pages that link to this policy.

3 Data Stored on Your Device

LifeOS stores the following data exclusively on your device using the operating system's secure local storage. This data never leaves your phone or tablet:

None of this information is transmitted to Equal Information servers. We do not operate backend servers that receive personal user data from LifeOS.

100% Local Storage No Cloud Sync No Server Upload

4 What We Do NOT Collect

Equal Information does not:

No Ads No Analytics No Tracking No Account Required

5 Health & Sensitive Data

LifeOS treats health and sensitive personal data with the highest level of care. Health information you enter — including body weight, water intake, medications, and vaccination records — is stored solely on your device and is never shared, transmitted, or accessible to Equal Information or any third party.

HealthKit / Health Connect (if granted): On iOS, LifeOS may request read access to Apple HealthKit for certain features (e.g., importing step counts or body weight). On Android, LifeOS may use Health Connect for similar integrations. Any data read from HealthKit or Health Connect remains on-device and is never transmitted to our servers. You can revoke this access at any time in your device's Health settings.

Disclaimer: LifeOS health features are for personal tracking and reference only. They do not constitute medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional for medical decisions.

6 Financial & Personal Data

Financial data (budgets, expenses, assets, net worth) entered in LifeOS Finance modules is stored locally on your device and never leaves it. Equal Information does not have access to this data at any time.

Similarly, data entered in Family, Travel, Fitness, and any other LifeOS modules is stored locally only. We never upload, back up, or sync this data to any external system.

7 Institutional Access Codes

Certain premium LifeOS features may be unlocked by institutional access codes provided by your organization or employer. These codes are validated entirely on your device using a local HMAC (Hash-based Message Authentication Code) process. No network request is made to any server during code validation. Equal Information does not receive information about which codes are used or by whom.

8 In-App Purchases

LifeOS may offer optional in-app purchases through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store to unlock Premium modules and features. These purchases are processed entirely by Apple or Google under their respective privacy policies and terms of service:

Equal Information does not receive or store your payment card information. Purchase receipts are verified locally on your device using the platform's receipt validation APIs.

9 Device Permissions

LifeOS may request the following device permissions depending on the features you use:

LifeOS does not require camera, microphone, contacts, or location permissions for its core features.

10 Optional: External Connections

Institutional or enterprise users may configure LifeOS to connect to external data sources (e.g., internal REST APIs, FHIR endpoints, or CSV feeds) using the Data Connector feature. These connections are configured entirely by the user or their institution and point to endpoints they control. Equal Information does not operate, monitor, or receive data from these third-party endpoints. No connection is made without explicit user configuration.

11 Crash Reporting

LifeOS does not currently include any crash reporting or diagnostic telemetry SDKs. If crash reporting is added in a future release, it will be strictly opt-in, will collect only anonymous diagnostic information (no personal data), and this policy will be updated accordingly before the feature ships.

12 Data Retention & Deletion

All data stored by LifeOS resides entirely on your device. Equal Information holds no copies of your data and therefore cannot delete it on your behalf. To remove all app data:

Deleting the app permanently removes all locally stored data from your device. This action is irreversible.

13 Children

LifeOS is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the European Union). The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because all data is stored locally and no account or email is required, children may use the app under parental supervision. Parents wishing to remove a child's data may do so by clearing the app's storage or uninstalling the app.

14 Your Rights

Because Equal Information does not receive, collect, or process your personal data on any server, we are unable to fulfill data subject access requests (DSARs) in the traditional sense — we simply do not have your data. All data resides on your device and is under your sole control.

If you have questions about your rights under applicable privacy law (GDPR, CCPA, etc.), contact us at privacy@equalinformation.com and we will respond within 1–2 business days.

15 Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be noted in the app's release notes and the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will be revised. Continued use of LifeOS after a policy update constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.

For significant changes affecting data practices, we will provide in-app notification where technically feasible.
